In the mid-50s René Pellos delivered a sports comic, Rock Gerard, to the newspaper IMA, the friend of the young.

Quickly adopted by the public, he was offered to follow the Tour de France, which he was the cartoonist and cartoonist fetish for many years. Pellos' career was prolific in comics and, even if it is not his major work, his production of a hundred albums of Nickel Foot (cartoon series created by Louis Forton) in 30 years after the Second World War, marked the world of comics.

Pellos passed away on April 8, 1998 in Cannes at the age of 98, when he was the oldest French cartoonist.
